Four Track & Field National Champions Crowned
Four Suffolk County Student-Athletes Win National Titles at NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
UTICA, N.Y. – The Suffolk County Community College women's and men's outdoor track and field teams had a very successful showing at the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on the campus of Mohawk Valley Community College on May 8-10.
* Four student-athletes for the Sharks earned NJCAA National Championships:
Matthew Flood – Men's Decathlon (5,079 points)
Aine McElhinney - Women's 10,000m (45:09.65)
Alex Bento – Men's Steeple Chase (10:03.82)
LaDuke Harris Jr. – Long Jump (6.92 meters)
* The Women's Team finished in 4th place!
* The Men's Team finished in 5th place!
* 30 Sharks earned All-American honors!
* Matthew Flood and Madison Grant were named Men's and Women's Northeast Region Athletes of the Year.
* Head Coach Weber Lord was named Northeast Region Men's Coach of the Year and Andy Guerrero Northeast Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.
