NJCAA Division III Baseball All-Americans Announced

Charlotte, North Carolina - After leading the Suffolk Community College Sharks to a 30-win season, Sharks sophomore pitcher Jack Turner captured NJCAA Division III Baseball All-America first-team accolades. Sophomores Dominic LaFroscia and Dioscar Cuello landed on the NJCAA Division III Baseball All-America second team as announced by the NJCAA.
Turner was the Sharks ace on the hill, posting a team-best 7-3-1 record and 2.42 earned run average while also leading the team in strikeouts (119), innings pitched (81.2), complete games (5), and shutouts (2). The Sayville, New York native posted six double-digit strikeout games, with his career-best 14 strikeouts coming during an 11-0 victory over Bronx Community College on May 3rd.
The 2024 All-Region 15 first-team selection also ranked in the top 10 in four pitching categories, ranking second in strikeouts with 119, fourth in complete games with five, and second in shutouts with two while posting 13.11 strikeouts per game, which is good for eighth.
LaFroscia, who also captured 2024 Region 15 Player of the Year honors, led the Sharks in five offensive categories during the season, ranking tops in hits (69), runs scored (65), RBIs (62), Doubles (24), and home runs (6). The Sayville, New York native also ranked fifth nationally in doubles with 24. LaFroscia registered 21 multi-hit games, 16 multi-RBI games, and five double-digit double performances while being second in slugging percentage (.669), base percentage (.502), batting average (.408), and third in steals (28).
Cuello, a 2024 All-Region first-team selection, led the Sharks in slugging percentage (.727), on base percentage (.520), batting average (.413), and triples (7) while ranking second in hits (50), RBIs (44), and doubles (18). The Longwood, New York native also ranked fourth nationally in triples with seven while posting 15 multi-hit games, 11 multi-RBI games, and four games with two doubles.
All three players led the Sharks to a 31-20 overall record and the Region 15 Regular Season Championship.
