Bio

Lou Klammer will be entering his 9th season as an Assistant Softball Coach at Suffolk County Community College. In six of the seasons that Coach Klammer has been on the staff the team has reached the NJCAA World Series. In his first five seasons Coach Klammer was responsible for all aspects of the Sharks pitching staff. His 1st season as the pitching coach was a success as the team finished 23-0 in Region XV play, qualified for the NJCAA World Series and Suffolk Pitcher Courtney Lawrence was named Region XV Player of the Year. 

Coach Klammer's 2nd season saw more accolades for the Sharks pitchers as Cori Augustine was named Region XV Pitcher of the Year and a member of the All Tournament Team at the 2017 World Series. Courtney Lawrence was once again 1st team All Region and was named a 2nd Team NJCAA All American.

In 2018, the Sharks pitching staff, of Karisa Lawrence, Cori Augustine and Macy Kane, was again undefeated in Region XV and District H play. Karisa Lawrence finished 1st in NJCAA Division III averaging 10.87 strikeouts per 7 innings and was named Region XV Player of the Year and finished in the top 10 in ERA with a 2.08 earned run average. Macy Kane finished 9th in NJCAA Division III averaging 7.62 strikeouts per 7 innings.

After sepnding the 2019 season as the 1st base coach and outfield coordinator, Coach Klammer is back to his familiar role handling the pitching staff. In addition to his pitching coach responsibilities Coach Klammer also oversees the team's off season conditioning program.

Prior to joining the softball staff Coach Klammer spent 15 seasons as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Suffolk where he spent time as the outfield coordinator, 1st base coach and handled the off-season conditioning program. During his time as the Assistant Baseball Coach the team went to 3 NJCAA World Series.

Coach Klammer is a graduate of Kingsborough CC where he played baseball. Klammer earned his Bachelor’s Degree from CCNY.
