Bio

Coach Ken Rao has been a member of ABC/USBC for the last 30 years and came to Suffolk Community College in 1995. Since then, Ken has successfully turned around Suffolk bowling into a competitive program. In 2001, formed the first women’s bowling team in Suffolk’s athletic history. In 2006, he organized and founded the first annual Suffolk invitational, which is open to Region XV bowling teams and 4 year colleges. A tournament that has successful prospered over the last several years.

 Since taking over the bowling program in 1995, Coach Rao has led the men’s bowling team to 6 regional championships, giving him Coach of the Year for those years as well as 10 second place runner-up championships. After his establishment of the women’s team in 2001, Coach Rao has led them to 5 regional championships and 3 second place runner-up championships. Under his leadership and diligence, there have been over 25 collegiate athletes named to the All-Region XV Team.

 Ken is an alumni of Suffolk, graduating in 1982 then going on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Management from C.W. Post in 1984. He is also an avid competitive bowler and is currently an adjunct professor at Suffolk, teaching an instructional bowling class.
