Bio

Coach Caputo has been coaching cheerleading at the college level since 1989. She began her coaching career at St. Joseph’s College and has been the Head Cheer Coach at Suffolk County Community College since 1994. In 1998, she was elected onto the Executive Board of the Long Island Cheerleading Coaches Association and remained a member of the Board until 2015. During her time on the Board, she was a LICCA Safety Certifier, hosted the LICCA Cheerleading Championships, and was the choreographer for LICCA’s Annual Patriotic Tributes. She was also the Cheer Coach for the NYPD Football Cheerleaders, and the Director of G-Force Cheer Co. which ran cheer camps and clinics all over Long Island. She has been actively involved in judging Cheerleading competitions on all levels since 1996. In 2004, she was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Long Island Cheerleading Coaches Association. From 2011-2022 she coached a second team at Suffolk and was the Head Dance Team Coach. In 2015 she became the college’s Spirit Coordinator where she runs the mascot program with the college’s first-ever mascot “Fineas”.

Coach Caputo is an alumnus of Suffolk County Community College. She received her degree in Business Administration in 1986 and went on to receive her B.S. in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s College. She has worked in the Athletic Department since 2004 and is currently the Athletics Coordinator here at Suffolk.
